Moisture
measurement and control of paper, paperboard and
pulp sheets during the manufacturing process is successfully handled by online
instrumentation during normal operation. However,
once the paper or pulp sheet has left the paper machine,
coater or pulp dryer it
is subjected to mostly uncontrollable environmental
influences, which will effect its moisture and can
cause problems for the converter. The traditional lab
moisture test using a drying oven is not suited well where a fast result for quick process decisions is
needed.
The emco P2, P4 or AM25 hand-held moisture
meter will give a fast and accurate reading of moisture
percentage on rolls and stacks of paper and on pulp
sheets. It is battery
operated, small and
lightweight, so it can be carried to any location in the
mill where moisture matters. The Model P2 is
factory calibrated for uncoated papers and paperboard.
The Model P4 is designed for coated grades and the AM25
for pulp sheets. The depth of
measurement into the stack or reel of paper is 13 mm
(0.5 inch) and 26mm (1 inch) for pulp sheets.
